Some folks run classics on 225/35/18's as well. These were recommeded for the P1 AFAIK.

Hi mate
I had 215/40/18's on a classic that was lowered 35mm. Fronts were fine but the rears rubbed even with only 1 rear passenger.
If i was running 18's now on a lowered classic I'd go for 215/35/18's.

225/35/18 see my profile plenty of space to lower in future, can't see 25/40's being that big a difference.

^^^^But the poster of the thread has a MY99 classic. Theres much less wheel clearance on classics.
I forgot to mention, I had 215/40/18's with the standard suspension, and it was generally ok, but when I lowered it the 35mm, the rears rubbed a lot.

check my profile, i have 215/35/18 and im using coilovers, i have it sitting very low but had to modify my wheels slightly to allow them to sit in further, i definetly couldnt get away with 215/40

I've got 225/40/18 on my99 with coilovers. No problem at all.
