Jeez, you're gonna lower it, then put new wheels on, and want to carry 4 adults without it scrubbing?

I reckon I'd go for 155/80 x13" then mate Some off a Mk1 Escort would do it

Why thanks for the informative answer. I lowered my previous car and fitted a set of 17s and no scrubbing with four passangers in the car it only scrubbed slightly usually on off camber turns. I am new to the subaru scene and if this is the kind of "help" i recieve then am not sure i made the right desicion bothering to post in these forums

OK, sorry, was having a laugh at your expense, I'll be serious:

Most folk reckon that 17's are best for ride/handling. If you fit 17's, go for 215/40 17". If you DO decide to go for 18's, then a decent tyre site will give you a calculator to keep the rolling radius the same.

215 40 17's will be fine with the proposed moderate drop in suspension height you have planned.

If the wheels are the right offset (ET50-53) you use a 225/40x18 92Y tyre and it's not a wagon then it doesn't matter what the springs do to the rideheight as they won't catch even at full bump.

There you go dhforever, if you haven't heard of Mr. Mike Wood....
He's probably busy at Prodrive creating something nice for the rich people out there... He helped me out recently too.
