Default EBC redstuff.

I had some EBC Redstuff pads fitted a month or so ago on my JDM new age sti. From the moment they were fitted pedal feel has been crap with a sinking pedal on the first application. A second push of the pedal gave a firm feel, it seems the brakes need pumping before they will work effectively! I decided to leave them in due the possibility that bedding in may clear the issue. Is this normal for redstuff pads? I also get a horrible squealing on application sometimes, very loud. Is this normal for these pads or have I got some duff pads?

Thanks Maz

did you need to bleed the brakes or did the brake pistons push back in?

It does sound like there is a bit of air in there to be honest.

Cant really comment re your set up but on my classic with the redstuff (in prodrive 4 pots) there is no squeal and they bite instantly

Brakes were comprehensively bled as the fluid was changed at the same time. I will give them a a few more miles and if there is no improvement a change will have to be made.
