Default Choices choices!

After some new tyres and have pretty much got it down to a choice of 3:

Toyo t1-r
Toyo t1-s
Yoko Parada

I've had the t1-s before so know what they're like. I found them to be pretty good for the money, hence why they're on the shortlist. But what would you go for out of the 3? The aim is at some point in the near future the car will be mainly a track car but will also see a fair bit of on road use.

Cheers,

Matt.

The Toyo T1Rs replaced the T1Ss so I'd factor those out. The T1R gets a lot of positive reviews and is generally accepted to be a mega BUDGET tyre.

Some reviews can be found here: Toyo T1R reviews

The important thing you said is you plan on doing the odd trackday. I T1Rs aren't the most heat loving tyres and, especially when new, overheat quickly quickly. On a heavy powerful car more so.

The Prada has mixed reviews (though a much smaller sample) but I'd certainly prefer it on my car over the Toyo if I wasn't too fussed about pushing on the road but wanted a good track tyre. - Yokohama Prada reviews

Cheers for that i did find that the t1-s' weren't that great from new and took a while to scrub in. and if the t1-r overheats quickly then that's not going to be good on track.

I had the Parada Spec2 on mine before chaging to the T1R's had T1S as well

I would say T1s good but sidewall is your flexible friend
T1R very good in both wet and dry.
Parada Spec 2 are far superior to both in the dry and still excellent in the wet, only downside is wear rate and damp driving ( in the damp you may as well be on ice) and on the limit they cling on for dear life!

Parada 2 would be my choice aswell, mine lasted well, seem to put up with plenty abuse and never had any problems in the wet

Some good information on the Spec 2 here, if anyone feels like adding their thoughts directly to the tyre review site i'd be forever grateful...
