Just had my 05 WRX in for 20k service. The garage tells me I'll need new front discs and pads before the next service. Pads I can live with, but new discs? I suggested to the garage that this should be a warranty job, but they said it was fair wear and tear.

Generally I'm not hard on brakes, although I got the car with 11k miles on it, so can't speak for the previous owner.

Just interested to know whether this is common - any thoughts you have would be appreciated.

Yep my 05 Sti needs new pads all round and front discs, done just over 24000 miles
