I've only used the t1r and believe its a better compound than the t1s but have never heard anything about the other one tbh.
The t1r is brilliant in all conditions btw.
James.

I had the toyo t1s on for the last 15k and found them very good in the dry,not bad in the wet,not so good in the damp/greesey condtions!but i dont drive like a **** in bad condtions, very often i have just worn those out and now have the toyo t1r and have mixed views on them! they have better grip in the dry and the wet now they have beded in(which took longer than most other tyres) but they dont have a very good feel too them? they behave as if they have very soft side walls and they car is skirming around on them? even tho thats what the "r" bit is surposed to be! reinforced side wall? all in all both very good tyres but prefer to have a little less grip and a better feel so i would choose the t1s if i can still get them when these are f##ked, what ever you choose i would get them from camskill online as way cheaper than anywhere else even micheldever tyres and bung your local tyre shop £20 to have them fitted, hope that helps luke

I've had 4 full sets of T1's and agree with what has been said above. I'm now on my first set of T1'r and they are just as good. To be honest, i ain't a professional driver and can't really tell the difference between most tyres so i am gonna choose T1'r for my next set as my existing set have done over 24k with a fair bit of tread left. I never saw more than 16k out of the T1's

I had T1S on my 03 WRX, i aint no super driver but i too noticed very quick wear when compared to the T1R. I too am using T1R but will no doubt swap to the newest Toyo Proxes 4 when the time comes! lol.
