Default brake upgrade questions

this is all probably very obvious but i'm still learning..........
i wanted to upgrade my stopping power.i curently have a 98 wagon with four pots on the front (not sure about the rear brakes)- if i get new pads and new discs will the braking be much better, or do i need grooved/drilled disks to increase the power/longevity of the brakes. does anyone have any ideas to the best pad/disc type or manufacturer?
and also how hard is it to fit new pads/disks and braided hoses?
cheers

Speak to Alyn at AS Performance - Rally Motorsport Specialists.

I'm using Standard discs and Black Diamond pads with Goodridge hoses and Dot 5.1 brake fluid and does a decent job imo

Or speak to Godspeed , they are doing front grooved discs with Ferodo DS2500 pads for £200 , and you get a 12 month guarantee against them warping even if you do track days
