Wow it certainly pays to shop around.

Check out the differences below.
4x Goodyear Eagle F1 205/50/R16

Kwik Fit £538
NTS £440
Jim Jeffries £376 (Local Wholesaler)
Micheldever £316 (This price from another thread)
Trade £279.80 (Overheard the cost price while in NTS

Dont know how Micheldever can do it at that price.

Happy Shopping

What the Blazes???

Why are tyres so cheap down South.
Are you on a special discount or are you a regular punter.

The mark up on tyres must be huge. Think I am in the wrong game.

Thought 376 was a top price now I feel hard done buy. Glad I havent bought them yet.

Bracknell Tyre or Humphries?

Not on any special price or anything.....
I got mine around October at Bracknell Tyre and Battery for 71 quid each, two previous in august for 75 quid each and ScoobySnack phoned them a month or so ago and the price was still around 70 quid each which he got Humphries to price match and beat.

??????????

Charlie Browns in St Helens would only do them for £520.
Said he did £320 as a one off and lost money on it.

I am just going to go to Jim Jeffries as they have them in stock.
£376

Tyres are so expensive up North????????????????

Got some Goodyear F1s this morning from MeritTyre in Woking. They originall quoted £476, but when asked to price match £316 from Braknell Battery and Tyres then managed it for £300 all in! They also filled it with Nitrogen rather than air.

Thumbs up

Nick - I'll be at the Karting - already paid - are any of the other Warrington boys going to be there?

I had to do a bit of negotiating to get the price I did from Charlie Browns, I think I might have tried the 'price match' angle as well, as I was ploughing my way through the yellow pages at the time, and had a lot of info - bit of a bugger if he won't repeat the price though - no more free publicity for him then!

Cool

Nick,

Tell me about it. I managed to get a set of 4x17"'s for £200. Local garage then charged me £20 cash to get them fitted/balanced. I supplied the flush fitting valves, but it was still the deal of the millenium for me. Can't say where I got them from, but it was a one-off price at the time.

The usual suspects (Kwik-fit, Budget, etc..) where quoting over £500 !!!!

As you say it pays to shop around.

Nick,

Just saw that your post was for 16"'s. The trade price sounds high to me as I got 4 17's @trade for a lot less.
