Looking at set of MY01 wheels, cos I like the look of them. Problem is car is MY94 WRX Wagon, and therefore I'm positive I need slighty different tyre size. what size do I need, and what makes of tyres would you recommend. I'd love to stick with Toyo Proxies T1-s but think that they don't do the size I'd need.
thanks for any info.

Thanks to Dave T-S for the info, (I stole it)
Rolling diameters:
215/40x17 = 604mm
205/55x15 = 607mm (OEM to MY97)
205/50x16 = 612mm (OEM 98 to 00)
205/45x17 = 616mm
215/45x17 = 626mm (OEM MY01)
So, 215/40x17 is the closest if the car had 15" wheels as std.
Iain.

215/40x17 or 205/45x17 are so close as makes no difference. Most people on here have 215/40x17 as more manufacturers have tyres in this size. They will fit absolutely no probs.
Stick with your Toyo TS-1s. Very good tyre. And so are the Goodyear F1s. Bridgestone So-2PPs are better (so say some) but I've just bought the last set in the world (thanks Mark, form Tyres N'hampton).
If you want the Bridgestones, my local Halfords RipSpeed dept has at least one tyre for sale (ex-display). If you are prepared to make a few phone calls you could get a set for a really good price. Only problem is the garage side of Halfords (including tyres) has just recently been taken over by the AA. Communication appears to be a bit of a problem at the mo.
Richard.

cheers guys. Actually hassled Dyney offline as I knew he had MY01's on he silver beasty.
Have got price of £440 for 4 proxes T1-s 215/40ZR17 - inc vat, fitting and balancing. and seeing as my 16 inch toyos were 385 for 4 I think 440 is good price.
Got the price from Setyres in High brooms, good chaps, plus 5 mins from my house.

I see you've got your tyres sorted, but I spooted a useful site the other night that could be useful for anyone looking to change tyres size. Check out :
