Question Rear brake pipes

My car failed the MOT this morning on a couple of things, the main thing being that there were dents in the rear brake pipes on both sides, the pipes weren't bent but they did have indents on the pipes from where the MOT man says that the rear roll bar had been hitting against them. Is this usual or has anybody else heard of this ?

I've been thinking about this and just though it was strange that the indents were on both pipes in exactly the same place on each side, could these indents be by design ? or has the roll bar been hitting against them and will they need replaced ?
I tried googling for pictures of brake pipes but could find anything relevant.

It also failed because there was a rusted hole just in front of the off-side rear arch just beneath the passenger door that appear to be just surface rust until the MOT man poked his finger through it.
