bugeye brakes..different sizes?

after contacting a few places to get prices on standard brake discs they are saying that there are two different sizes

anyone heard of this?? the car is a 2001 uk bug wrx.

The discs are only one size for that year WRX , 294mm on the front with Subaru 4 pot calipers and 290mm on the rear with Subaru 2 pot calipers
