Used black diamond before and the proper name should be "black alloy" considering the colour of my wheels. Didn't give any benefit over the OE pads at all.

Don't know anything about the OMP's though, but I'd say its worth paying a bit extra and going for Pagid's or Ferodo's.

again pagid 421 blacks, much better feel than "standard" pads, had the halfords £30ish ones in for a short while just felt like blocks of wood no "feel" to the pedal.

Pagid RS421 Good but expensive, and if using grooved discs they will wear down quicker, but a good package in all.

My car is currently in getting a brake rebuild and specialist has recommended Ferodo DS2500.

He did mention the pagid pads are quite good as well.

I used the black diamond ones in my old 4 pots a couple of times, Never had any problems with them, Used to wear well and an improvement over the standard ones. Agree with the dust comment, but then again I don't really clean the car that often so wasn't really that bothered.
