help caliper seized

Default help caliper seized

hi my caliper front drivers side has seized garage said they freed the sliders but the top piston is seized is it a new one needed or is there a way of sorting it cheers guys

hard to say without seeing it. if its very seized would get other caliper. you can reseal but would probably need new piston if its any more than very light dirt build up. You should be able to get two pot caliper cheap enough so probably would get full replacement. usually other side that goes being on the crappy side of road. while ure at it check the dust seals on them.

I had this on my Integrale so i bought a seal repair kit, took the piston out rubber all the crap off it with wire wool etc, the problem is once the ptotective coating comes off the piston they are going to keep rusting so it becomes a bit of a frequent job !
best thing to do is buy a new piston and a seal kit and do the whole lot!
