98 Wagon Brakes
Guys,
done a bit of researching on here but still not 100% sure what to do...
i gotta 98 impreza 2000 turbo wagon, standard discs are on their way out and instead of getting new ones (coz they're pants!) i was going to upgrade, problem is i only have the standard 16's on at the mo as i can't afford my nice new 17's for a while
what do you guys recommend i try upgrading to that will help me stop but still be snug enough to fit in my lowly standard rims?
i dont do track days just the normal road and motorway abuse, but the standard brakes feel to sketchy when braking hard!
thanks for your help in advance

i have been looking at getting some STi 4 pots on the front and the 2 pots on the rear, will i be able to do this with the 16's? i have read a few places that i will have to have 17's on rder for them to fit, is this true?
i have been looking at these on ebay:
eBay.co.uk: Subaru Impreza STi 2 pot brake calipers ** brembo ** (item 190123145162 end time 21-Jun-07 16:43:15 BST)

Those are gold Brembos and are huge. They need at least a 17" wheel and then only a few will clear the front caliper. Cheapest option being standard new age STi wheels. IIRC (but check for yourself) a standard Subaru steel 4 pot caliper will fit under a 16" wheel and I think those were the ones Yamarashi was referring to.
Do you already have Subaru 4 pots as I'm not sure which MY it changed. 4 pots have SUBARU embossed on outside of caliper whereas the old 2 pot sliding caliper you only see the back of the outside pad. Discs, pads, hoses and fluid with the std 4 pots should sort you out fine for road use.
