Default Slow tyre leak

I’m selling a car which needs its alloys re-lacquering. The rims are flaking and are not creating a seal on the tyre, consequently I need to inflate the tyre every day or so. As I’m selling the car, I don’t want to get them refurbished so would I be able to use the aerosol puncture repair kit to seal the leak?

Can you still inflate the tyre via its valve with this stuff in it…?

Surely its not leaking due to the laquer flaking off? Dont just fill it with the punctue kit as that is only meant as a 'run you home' short term solution, and im not too sure how safe it is to drive long term on it.

Why not take the tyre down to a local fitter and get them to take the tyre off, lubricate it and refit it? Cant cost more than a tenner i wouldnt think.

I've tried that. The laquer is on very thick and where it has flaked on the rim it has left quite a step. Its this step that the tyre can't seal on. It would cost about £30 each wheel to do - but as i am selling the car I just wanted a quick fix.

I might just sell it and mention the wheels need doing
