Default vibrating stearing rack

sti version 8 uk.

Just had a set of yellow stuff pads fitted all round and now when i turn left and give it some right foot i get a real nasty vibration up the steering rack.As well as this when going in a straight line tinkering along doing 40 i get a rattling metallic sound behind the dash this also is new.

Also i have had a full decat system put on at the same time.

Any suggestions please?

have you checked the heat shield on the turbo is secure after the decat was fitted?
i have the same metalic rattle from behind the dash on mine that is caused by the heat shield vibrating due to 2 sheared off bolts

Just a guess, but I had a similar sort of problem which turned out to be non-standard headers vibrating against the sub-frame now and again as the engine flexed on its mounts.

I had the same problem on mine, a vibration through the steering when turning and the rattle from behind the dash, it only started aftert changing the downpipe to a de-cat pipe, it turned out to be the heat shield on the up-pipe loose and hitting the steering rack.
