Default Tyres

Looking to get some 18 P-ff7 wheels and am torn between tyres.

Fancy giving Parada 2's or F1's a try. They will be used for road use only.

However, when i've been looking for prices, the Parada's only seem available as a 'W' rating (up to 168).Whilst i appreciate i'll never be doing anything like these speeds i was just wondering if anyone knew the reason for this, the F1's are 'Y' rated (186mph).

Both seem comparatively priced if bought seperately although i have seen the Parada's at £78 if bought with the wheels. The cheapest F1's i can find are £93 on their own.

Can i assume the 'W' rating on the Parada's is the norm and would be more than sufficient ?

I've done a search and people's views on both these are very similar, although the F1's may last a bit longer ?

Cheers

I was also wondering about the load rating of the Parada's - if i'm right in thinking they're rated at 84.

Would these be okay as 18's on MY07 STi ?

Cheers

I have paradas on my 18s and rag them silly. Wonderful in the dry, not so good in the wet (good in snow I found) but they wear quite quickly. I would throw Falken 452s into your mix as a cheaper but nice tyre - not as sexy as the paradas though few are...

Cheers,

How quickly would you say they wear - i tend not to do many miles, only around 6k a year tbh.

As for not being good in the wet,i've got the standard RE070's on at the moment and they're not exactly brilliant in the wet either.

Whereabouts in Northants are you,i seem to remember you mentioning Daventry?

Cheers

I am indeed in Dav - for now - I am only 6 months into my Paradas (10k per year) and there is still loads on them, my tyres usually last a year to give you an idea.

That load rating is too low, can't remember exactly the correct figure but i think it should be around 90, do a search on here as were quite a few threads about it a while back

Stick your tyre size into ebay search (225/40/18 for example) and you'll find it cheaper.

I thought it sounded low too.I've since done a few random searches and all the Parada's i've seen have had a load index of 84 !

I know lots of people on here have used them though.
