Just ordered 4 Goodyear Eagle F1's but....
.....they dont have a reinforced wall (215 40 17 W), Ive noticed that the same mobile fitting company offer the Toyo T1-R same size but with a reinforced wall............. would the lack of a reinforced wall make them a lesser tyre than the Toyo? From what I have gathered the Eagle F1 is a excellent tyre for the Classic Impreza.

If they're 83w load rated just keep an eye on the inner shoulder. There were a few threads on here some while back about splits appearing and they only seemed to happen on 83 rated tyres. The lowest load rating shown on standard fitment tyres that I could find listed (see handbook) seemed to be 87.
The standard 215/45/17s are available 91 rated (marked XL for extra load) and 87 rated in 16" size. When I had a classic there wasn't a higher rated F1 available above 83 in 215/40/17. I had a set of 83 rated that all split all the way around the inner shoulder, down to the carcase, though it was some time ago now and every set I've had since - all 17s and higher rated (XL 91 rated) - have been fine.
It might be inapplicable now but better you know all the same, checking now and then does no harm.

For what its worth I had Toyos fitted to me at the beginning of last year, I've covered well over 13k miles since and theres probably still 6 months life left on them.

I went for the F1's in the end, etyres fitted 215/40 ZR17 speed rating Y, having the geometry and bump steer mod done this week so looking forward to seeing the end results. Initial impressions of the F1 are good, feels smoother and less road noise. I think the Z means its a decent strength wall?
