depending on where your based, you could try grade-a subaru, forresters subaru, central subaru, jap performanc eparts i could go on and on, if you get any of the jap car mags, theres loads of breakers, they sometimes come up on ebay as well. probably looking at 200-300 quid depending on condition, and that should include the slightly bigger discs and pads, again pot luck as to condition.
dont think there is much difference between the flat or raised lettered calipers but not 100% certain

I am also interested in this upgrade how easy is it to upgrade fro 2 pot to 4 pot ? Will i retain the original 2 pot brake hoses or do i need the brake hoses of the 4 pot caliper and also is it a straight forward job for a limited experience DIY mechanic ? Any one fancy making a guide on whats needed and how to go about fitting?

I started mine tonight.
Needed.
4 pot calipers and pads
4 pot type disc's
Copper Grease
Tools and know-how
Eazi-bleed or simalar (I used a Halfords one man jobby)
Brake fluid, Dot 4 or 5.1.
Advantageous.
Braided Hoses
I'll take some piccys when I do the other side. It really isn't too hard if you are mechanically minded.

Did the original STi's and WRX's have 4-pots without the writing? I know 4-pots WITH the writing came in on the 1999 UK cars......
Doing the swap is easy enough. Just make sure that you fit the calipers with the bleed nipple at the TOP
You can also buy a clamp to clamp up the brake hose to stop fluid loss, or keep it to a minimum, but I'm not sure it's worth it. The one-man brake bleed kits are a Godsend, but I'm unsure about the idea of using a "jobby" I reckon the smell alone would put me off.......

Red 05> 4 pots have 'smooth' writing on them..
This helps them stay looking good IMO, unlike the earlier unfinished ones that look like a corroded battery in no time..!
I'm about to take some pics of mine so I'll post them up (got to take some anyhow as someone's interested in having them off me if all goes to plan..D))

Right looks like i will be doing this modification as soon as posible are braided lines worth it or shall i stick to the standard rubber. I currently have the 2 pot with red stuff pads and find them ok untill travelling at high speeds when the become inefficient.
Cheers

Unless of course you count the previously highlighted bleed nipple thing I was in a rush, it was going dark and starting to rain OK
