Default classic tyre sizes

hi i have just bought some oz superleggras off ebay without tyres and i have been searching on here for the correct tyre sizes and there seems to be some conflict as to which tyre size is best/correct/standard does anyone know the definitive answer as i need to get some put on tommorow and dont want to get any arch rubbing...All the best Justin..

from what i understand after lots of searching is 215 40 17s are just about the same rolling circumference as the 205 50 16 standard wheels so i am off to get these fitted...Just thought i would post for other people...Justin..

205 45 17s are what Subaru would recommend (=Pirelli), but there's more choice with 215 40 17s, and they're cheaper, so that's what everyone goes for. They should be fine.

I've had 215/40 17's from goodyear, Toyo T1S and Toyo T1R's, and had no probs with any, even with a full load, a caravan on the back, four mountain bikes on a rack on top, and three teenaged lads on the back seat

It should be 205 45 17 not 40s Better with 215 40 17

Yep 205/45/17 or more commonly 215/40/17.

Unless they're 18's then its 215/35/18 or 225/35/18.
