Default Which tyres?

I picked up a 206gti 180 a few weeks ago and the dealer has put 4 new tyres on as the origionals were worn.
he's fitted whiat must be the cheapest tyres he could (autocross) which are crap in the wet as when turning they want to go straight

I've been looking at toyos but not sure which are the better ones T1r or T1s or should i consider others. I want them to last at least 10k but must be quiet, smooth and grip in wet and dry

sizes is 205/40/17

cheers

Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3's

Or Michelin Pilot Sport 2's, expensive but general last long.

IMO best tyres are the Toyo T1r's... they have hardened side walls which elliminate alot of roll when cornering hard and are excellent in both dry and wet!

T1s do not have the hardened side walls.

T1-S are very soft imho. Mine only lasted 13k on the front of my WRX.
And that was mostly normal driving too. By that i mean no race track driving, hard cornering all the time, etc, etc. So tbh that is rubbish for longevity.
The T1-R are a lot better but as always it depends how you drive and what you want to spend.
There are many votes for the F1's on here as well as the Toyo's.
Do you really need something that expensive?

My vote is for Goodyears. I had Bridgestone S03's on and when I upped the power they were very twitchy in the wet. Put on the Goodyears and they are superb ! Only one twitch and that was me getting carried away.

well on fleebay you can get 4 T1s or T1r's for £220 which is reasonable.

I don't drive hard but want something that has plenty of wet and dry grip but don't want a harsh or noisey drive.
The goodyears seem to be the ones to go for but are too dear when compared to the Toyos as i'm only using the car to get to work and back.

i was looking at Avon ZZ3s but a tyre place i use says although they're good the sidewalls start to bulge (egg) after a while?

Going budget I would say T1R's better than T1S's, however, I would spend that bit extra and get Michelin Pilot Sport 2's, it's the only bit of the car that touches the road, so I'd spend the extra.

Tell me where - I am looking for some tyres and that price is great Only cheap ones I can see are T1-S's - some T1-R's but £299 for 4 is the best I can find.

Seen those ones - if only they'd been my size - I assume they'd be mad to fit???

As my local tyre place messed me about they gave me Goodyear F1s for a knockdown price, they are excellent and proved themselves yesterday in the icey conditions. Only got them on the back tho, got bridgestones on front
