'04 Wagon, PFF7s, Prodrive Springs & Tyre Rub
Help!
When carrying any weight in the car(e.g 5 sdults), i'm getting awful rear tyre rub.
Has anyone else out there suffered the same problem with this set up? And more importantly has anyone overcome it?
What's really annoying is that all the parts are Prodrive and have been purchased from Subaru main dealers.
The rubbing seems to be against the rubber strips that cover the inside edge of the wheelarch. Can these be removed? Or is the only option to consider having the arches rolled?
Any help/suggestions/advice greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Andy

Alas the PFF7s aren't approved for the wagon, particularly with lowering springs. Because the wagon hasn't got the wider wheel arches, the PFF7s rub because the offset is too small. I think they're an ET48 setting, whereas for the wagon you need ET53. The only 18" wheels I know of with the ET53 offset are the prodrive wrc, and a rather tacky gold 11 spoke on the Subaru site. Alas, you'll find that independent dealers will often not be aware of the offset issue, I was told that the PFF7s would fit my wagon but a bit more checking on here showed up the rubbing problem. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Hi i have the same set up as you and yes it is abit anoyingas you say with approved parts. The offset on the PFF7 wheels is 51. They do rub on extremes, As in heavy load and sharp cornering. I am running 1.5 neg camber on the rears so that helps abit but the only true sollution would be to have the rubber removed and the arch rolled.
