Can Toyo Proxes be repaired
I have a very slow puncture inm one of my tyres. when i went to ATS they said they wont repair it because the speed rating is too high, is this true?
I really dont want to buy a new tyre unless i have to.
cheers

what sort of slow puncture i.e nail size and where on the tyre? ask around your local tyre garages i'd say 90% will fix it. its just ats covering themselfs as any fixed tyre has more of a chance of blowing and if no one else will fix it you'l have to buy 2 tyres if its oppasite tyre is worn.

as long as the hole is in the center 3/4 of the tyre and not near the edge of the tread and its no more than a couple or mm big ( not certain of the exact size limit) then it can be plugged.... tyre repaires are carried out to bsi procedures so they are safe irrespective of speed rating of the tyre..... the only thing i wouldnt be happy about getting repaired is a punctured bike tyre but thats personal preference, car tyres that have been repaired are perfectly fine..... id say they were after a sale more than anything

Here's your options, replace the tyre with a new one costing about £80 if it's a 17",
or, get it repaired and forever worry if you'll have a blow out at high speed or by hitting a hole in the road.
I personally would never use a repaired tyre on a high performance car.

Like rigga said, if its in the central 3/4, not bigger than 6mm and goes more or less straight through it can be fixed. Thats taking into account the sidewall of the tyre is ok and not been run flat.
The higher speed rated tyres can be fixed once but the lower can be repaired 3 times as long as not right next to each other. If done properly they will last longer than the tyre!
Has the tyre been repaired before then?
