Follow on from my previous thread as i need the brakes sharpish and dont no which ones to buy!
How much better are drilled/grooved discs over normal factory fitted ones? Are they worth the extra £ £ £ or is it just for looks?
My car is a 1999 t plate uk turbo saloon with 4 pots i think? ?

It's mainly the pads that do all the work, so decent set will see more improvement then discs.
Drilled will help dissipate heat and grooved will deglaze pads.
For road use I would recommend grooved only or standard discs.
Drilled can crack.

The grooves just clean the face of the pad. So you don't get any better braking than a new (bedded in) pad on a plain disc. The benefit is that with the grooved you just get that same braking for a bit longer when a pad on a plain disc might have glazed a bit.
