Default Upgrade rear brakes

What options are there with regard to upgrading the rear brakes on a P1?

larger discs & pads with a different caliper?

Does'nt the Type R have larger rear brakes? Do these fit the P1?

AP do an upgrade for MY98 on, that would be the P1 wouldn't it?

Look at AP Racing then select Subaru, Impreza (rear) 1998 to 2001.

Yeah on a P1 but i was looking for a slightly cheaper option than the AP's on the rear, any ideas?

Sorry but I don't think the words 'cheap' and 'brakes' should be used together. When choosing brakes I think you should go for the best, most proven brand out there.

I did'nt say "cheap" i said "cheaper" and in relation to the AP racing rear conversion kits, which seem to be about the most expensive i've seen although they are probably the best, which means anything costing less than the AP racing set up is a cheaper option and what I'm after but not "cheap".

The 2 pot calipers and discs from the bug eye WRX including the complete hub assembly will bolt staight on. Caliper looks much better than the OE sliding calipers. I have fitted them to my P1. The disc dia increases from about 264mm to 290mm. The handbrake drum dia is the same at 170mm so all you need to do is re-attach your present handbrake cable. I got mine from Grade A breakers for about £470 inc the whole hub assembly and good discs and pads. The hub assembly will include the bearings from the WRX. I bought a re-sealing kit ( approx £25 from Subaru) for the pistons but all were working freely and seemed in good condition.

I bought:
Brackets from Dyney, £160 New
Discs from Camskill £90 New
2 pot my01 calipers and New pads Ebay £100
This little lot enabled me to upgrade the 95 RA rear brakes. I would have skimped some more and bought 2nd hand discs had I been able to find any.
