How will 18's effect my classic??
I am looking at changing my standard wheels for some Gunmetal/Black 18's,but just wanted to know if they will effect the fantastic handling of my 2000 model Classic UK Saloon, either for the better or worse, and if so how?
I have always changed the wheels on my cars for larger ones and know how they have effected those, but i have never had a Scoob before,so am looking for some advice from the more knowledgeable

Will probably tramline a lot, the ride will get harsh, breakaway will be more sudden and you may have problems with rubbing in the rear arches unless you're careful with wheel width, offset and tyre size.

Sorry to highjack the thread but I have had a look at the scoobybits website and am amazed at the prices. Does anyone know if they are plus VAT as they seem incredibley cheap, which is a good thing?

I've had 18's on my classic for nearly a year and they are fine. There is some tramlining particularly on cambers but not a big issue, certainly nothing to worrk about.
The handling is still excellent but a little less progressive in the wet although that may be down to the particular model you have.
Bumps and things are naturally felt a little more but again, these are normal issues.
They fit absolutely fine.

Had 18's on my MY00 for about 3 years now and not noticed any major downsides tbh. I thought they would completely change the handling of the car but they are nowhere near as harsh as I thought they'd be, the only thing I've experienced is a slight bit of tramlining under heavy braking on uneven surfaces. So long as you get the right offset and the right sized tyres you should have no problem.
