Toyo's are dead long live ?
I've worn my trusty Proexes out and need to get some new rubber.
I have had no issues with these at all and got them due to the advise from the good people here on Scoobynet.
I'm on 16" 205s on a classic and am just wondering if other manufacturers are catching up / getting close.
What are my options. Finance is a niggle, but ultimately it's potentially life and death in the rainy season.
Most miles are motorway, followed by urban commuting, fun on country roads a sad 3rd place. No track or drag days.
What are BAD
Cheers

Performance per pound I'd go for Avon zz3 from www.camskill.co.uk
IMO they are better than Toyos in the wet and give similar dry performance

You sure Andy mate?
The ZZ3 are completely different to the woeful ZZ1 of years past.
If you really do mean the ZZ3 then I do beg to differ

I know there's the poll going on on this thread, but I don't just want to follow the heard.
GY F1s are obviously damn good and Toyos seem to get a big cheer too - like I said no issue with mine, but I can't compare anything at the moment as I've only used these.
On tyre type Forums the Dunlop SP9000 gets equally good ratings as Toyo and Goodyear.
Wondering if anyone had found a new to UK tyre thats the dogs.
Loads of stuff coming from Far East, Korea etc... - are they still ditch finders Hankook Kuhmo etc... ?
I'm in Watford M8 for my sins, but regularly land in Devon and Yorkshire too

F1's are the only way to go, I've had a couple of sets and loved them. Last set lasted nearly 24K and this was giving it some beans most of the times.
Have Toyo's T1s at the moment (Came with the wheels) they are okay but the F1's are much better, F1's are quiter, corner better and seem to move standing water better.

i've got the avon zz3 and apart from 1 scary moment when the tyre split 180 degrees on the inner edge they've been fine
the blow out was caused by a buckled wheel and sending very harsh vibrations through the tyre, i don't blame the tyre for that. i had driven hard for 500 miles with the buckled wheel , don't ask me why , i HAD to.
got lucky in the end , i replaced toyos with the avons and they are just as good.. 215/40/17 - think i paid around 60 quid a corner, bargain on flea bay
also consider the hankook ventus sport , good speed rating, i may try them next time. have a look at mytyres.co.uk website
