switching tyres
not switching wheels. has anyone ever tried to DIY take the tyre off the rim and replace it themselves?
i got tyres which are bald on the outside edges (think it is roundabouts taking their toll) the rest of the tyres have loads of tread left.
seen them do it in the garages. ..deflate, pull it off rim simple as that. they have the benefit of a machine that rotates the wheel as they do it but no more.
balancing shouldn't be out because same tyre on same wheel right? just need to be sure rotation is right direction and thats it?

I think you would struggle to pop the bead manualy and probably damage the wheels leavering the tyre.
It might be easier to pay a garage 5 to 10 quid to get it done.
You would need to balance it as the tyre would be in a different position on the rim to when it was balanced first.
