Question Which Tyre for my S202???

it is shod with 225/45 ZR17 Pirelli P-Zero Rossos at the moment, what would be a good road legal tyre that would be good on the track and has excellent grip in the dry on normal roads??
Also what size would you recommend going up to without wheel arch fowling or compromsed handling/ride??
It runs on the stock 17" rims

thanks Nige

I have found Goodyear F1's to be excellent, same size and strangely enough same stock rims!

I find the Toyo R888's are amazing on track and on the road in the dry...
they are good in damp conditions, but are rubbish for standing water...

That said i still ran them at Snetterton in heavy rain and they we're still great, although there we're a few twitchy moments!

After a bit of research, I've just fitted a set of Vredestien Ultrac in 225/45/17 (thanks to Coradoboy for recommendation) as my original Bridgestone RE070s were wearing down. Initial impressions are fantastic - no tramlining whatsoever and vastly improved ride quality (esp over the rutted potholed Cumbrian back roads). Plenty of feedback through the wheel and excellent turn in. Slightly less 'precise' feel, but not by much. Grip seems excellent in wet and dry, though I haven't pushed too hard yet as they're not properly run in. Overall though, a far more confident tyre to 'push on' with than the OEM Bridgestones in real worl driving conditions (ie less than perfectly surfaced roads). God knows why Subaru decided to fit RE070s as standard - I would never purchase these again. Oh - the best bit; £75 each fitted and balanced
