235/40/18 on 8" rim
I'm just about to take delivery of a new black wagon and I can't say I'm over-enamored with the standard 17's. They look a little lost.
I fancy something that sits more flush to the body and appears to fill the arches a little better but I want to keep as much rubber on there as I can get away with without scrubbing on standard suspension.
I've spent the last 3 years on 225/35/18's on sheffield roads and it wasn't a pleasant experience.
235/40/18's on an 8" rim?

On a wagon it's 225 max and preferably on a 7.5" ET53 wheel to make sure they don't catch. With the right tyre the ride will be significantly better than you had before.
