New OZ Ultraleggra Rims?
Whats the verdict on these new OZ Ultralegga Rims (available from ScoobWorld)?

Think they will suit the car below? The car is track focused - think I should definately stick the 17s rather than 18s?

Ben.

Going to go for the middle colour option in that picture - gold doesn't look right on silver IMHO.
I think I can live with the slight weight penality of 18s over 17s - and don't think it will make too much difference handling wise hopefully.

I think you could be surprised to find that the 18" combination could well be lighter than the original 17's The wheels will almost certainly be lighter than the OE items and don't forget that the tyres will have the same overall diameter, but the hole in the middle is bigger = less rubber! (assuming the same tyre width)

I reckon the OZ's are much nicer. The spokes going right to the edge of the rim make the wheel look bigger? - and you can get your hand between the spokes to clean the inside of the wheel - if you're that bufty!

The Rota SDR's are good looking fairly light weight rims but not available in 18s? never seem them in that size. I don't think they are especially strong etiher.
Still favouring these Ultralegga's although the other wheels suggested are very nice.

I just think that it's worth investigating the pros and cons of the two sizes. Sure the 18"s look really nice, but there is a more serious consideration, ie handling. Only way to know is to try both options, with the same tyres. Don't know how you'd go about doing it, but if you're not in a rush then take the time to find out. A bit silly spending the extra cash on 18"s (and future tyre replacements) if they're not the best option for you. Just trying to confuse you, really.
Agree completely about investigating the pros and cons of the two sizes - I am more concerned about how the car drives than looks. The extra cost of 18inch rubber is a consideration for me too, especially if it's not the right option. I do think that 18s adversely affect the handling on classics (your running 17s on yours) but new-ages do seem to react better (less badly) to the larger wheels...

UltraLs are available in Matt Graphite, which is a too darker than BF.
Tony.

Thinking of just going for the above now (17 inch, 7.3kg) - Rota SDRs as already suggested... not too expensive either.
Not sure they are going to clear the Brembo's I want to put on though... will have to investigate that first as I know they don't fit under the standard wheels I have at the moment.
