Default who sells REO70's?

it's becoming a bit of a headache TBH, don't need them yet but thought i'd find out stockists/prices.

main dealer price is £166 per tyre and they've got them in stock at the moment

went to my local watling tyres and they will fit for £123 but when i asked them if they can readily get hold of them he phoned his supplier to told they won't get any for 2 months!

tried a large firm near me called Elite and they couldn't even find them on their site

any other ideas or am i destined to be shafted by the dealer?

Do you really want RE070's again i have these and will be needing to change them soon'ish, they are a good tyre but the sidewalls are rock hard (some might like this) and they are noisy and wear quite quickly, might be going for Goodyear F1's next as they seem to get a thumbs ups from most people

well given the availability/price, i might be tempted to change tyre make.

personally i like the stiffness of the tyre and i think the car benefits from it, noise and ride i've got used to and they're on 10k with hopefully about 2-3k to go. i can live with this on a performance tyre

my only concern with F1's is the high profile combined with the soft side wall, someone posted up recently who'd fitted F1's to an 05sti and was still happy with the handling etc, but i like the 'raw' sort of feel the siff side wall gives.

yet to have some real grotty weather to deal with on the 70's, but my mileage will put them slap in the middle of winter so my choice of tyre may well change

What size are you after?

I have seen 225/45/17 on the web for 115 delivered. For the much harder to get 235/45/17 Iain Litchfield sells them. He will deliver. Indeed I just got a set swapped off a new car - included the wheels as well for less than your top quote per corner

A superb compromise between the dry abilities of the RE070's and the wet grip of the F1's is the Vredestein UltraC. Can be had for IRO £68 each if you know where to look Do a search on here to find others opinions of them, I've not heard anyone say anything negative about them so far. Will be having some on my winter wheels as soon as the RE070's get dangerous (usually around early Oct ).

i got 225 x 45 x 17 RE070's for £95 per corner fitted, through a friend of a friend who owns a tyre garage.

in saying that the front 2 are needin replaced after 8k miles so will be trying the goodyears next.

My current RE070s have done 6,000 miles on the road and two airfield track days. One at Brunters and one at Elvington.

Still loads of tread on them.

And they were hammered on the track day. To be honest I am at Donnington next Monday and that will probably finish them off - but a good run nonetheless. No worse than S02s.

I am not sure how people wear them out so quickly

Spec,

and can your 'mate' do 235/45/17 RE070s?

Would love to see a price - my wholesaler cannot get them anywhere in Europe!
