Default DBA discs good or bad?

As title really
my local subaru specialists sell DBA and Black diamond and they've said they haven't sold any DBA discs (i've done a search but most of the results came out to be about 2 years old) is this cos they're crap or cos people stick with the well known makes?
They are for a my93wrx with a sti6 4 pot upgrade(to be fitted)

Thanks
Paul

I was looking at some, but tbh I can't justify spending over £200 on a pair of front discs. I'd love a pair though, but it's just the cost. True that Black Diamonds aren't even in the same league though.

The quote i got for the BD discs was £180+ vat (don't know if they are grooved or drilled just asked for a price) so to be honest the DBA look a bargain for my car at least.

I was going to buy some of the DBA's on the GB but got quoted £148+VAT for some BD grooved fronts for a MY03 STi so at £100 less than the GB price of the DBA's I have gone with BD. I may regret it but don't know till I try, if I do I'll be on the phone to Alyn for some, already got my pads and lines from him, top bloke .

Dont get the drilled ones. Was speaking to a guy with a set of DBA's all round, had them for 2 years and the fronts are cracked already.....

we only supply the grooved versions of most discs for that very reason, though to be fair 2yrs out of a set may mean a number of treackdays, etc??

Yeah go grooved every time, drilled are for posers who want cracked brakes LOL
although I do always wonder why so many otherwise reputable brake companies persist in offering drilled brakes when they know they won't stand up to punishment. To be fair to DBA, in their literature it's pretty damn clear that they don't recommend their drilled discs for any more than mild street use.

Thats just it though, there is a market for the posers, hence they meet demand. Probably begrudgingly so but thats business!
