Default wheel size

guys is it a good idea to run a classic impreza on 18'' rims had anyone done this and found any problems, does it not put excessive wear on the bearings etc and would be better to run on 17'', and what about the tracking etc will this be effected

I've had 17s and 18s on my classic without any problems. If you go for 18s, the recommended tyre size is 215/35 to avoid scrubbing. The new age cars can go a bit wider (225).

If you plan to upgrade your brakes to some bigger items, be careful as even some of the 18" rims won't go over them. It's not necessarily the offset either, it's the clearance between the back of the spoke part of the wheel and the caliper.

Have a chat to a couple of the Scooby specialist suppliers, TSL for example who can advise better than me.

Have a look at the group buys aswell at the Rota 18" thread. I've just bought a set of 18" GRA's and they look the biz on my classic (and they fit over Brembos )

Cheers

Jeff
