No Brakes!
Just fitted new 4 pots and I have no brakes, I left them to bleed with the nipples open but let the tank empty. Topped it up again and drained loads but still no brakes. Left it with my mate who put about a pint in and bled all 4 calipers,,,,,,, still no brakes. The pedal will pump up but soon goes again. I can hear hissing sound when I press the pedal whilst driving.
Anyone any idea’s as the car is getting mapped in the morning and I only have a handbrake.

Why did you 'leave' them to bleed, it ain't like an oil change..!
Sounds like you've completely drained the master cylinder and once that draws air in it's a real PITA to bleed all the air out.
Looks like your mapping session is fooked imo..!
No seriously you should have some braking albeit whit a very spongy/long pedal.
If you don;t mind me asking, why did you do this job yourself if you didn't know how to do it properly. Brakes are probably the one area you cannot afford to mess with..!

Yes mate i do know what i'm doing. I just thought the nipple would go to the bottom so as to stop fluid running down the caliper when you bleed it.
You can fit then both ways, very easy done if you never took them off in the first place.

i got side tracked and forgot about them
Did you use any tubing from the nipples into a jar of fluid (to avoid drawing air back into the system), pump the pedal, bleed in sequence, maintain pedal pressure when nipples open..???

what I normally do is open them all with car on the ramp and keep master cylinder topped up, it means you can service the rest of the car while changing the fluild, it works fine as long as you don't forget the top up the bottle. I used to work for a Renault main dealer and this is how we always did it.... cuts down service time.
If you leave the nipples open and do not press the peddle air cannot get in to the system...
Anyway turned out I fitted the brakes upside down and it was nothing to do with fluid running low, in my defence it was dark and raining, I had just finished an 16 hour day at work and I never took them off so made a guess as to how they fitted.
