Red face Greenstuff brake fade

UK 97 spec brakes ie small ones & single calipers, with grooved front discs, standard rears and Greenstuff pads.

I was playing recently and it was the most sustained period of heavy braking I have done and had to stop playing due to substantial brake fade, haven't had this since my dear old Mini.

Anyway, I will shortly be adding braided brake hoses, for better feel, but is there a better pad I could try to reduce this fade. I eventually hope to go to a track day or 3, but don't really want to change the pads everytime I go, so they still have to be road usable.

Was simply going to try Redstuff, but read they deposite a coating on the discs so you need to bed them in properly. What does this involve and what are my other options ?

(If I'd done more research I'd have got a later model with bigger brakes to start with )

Thanks in advance.

Personally I'd try Mintex or Pagid. Not been that impressed with my EBC setup (disc & pads).

If you are going on track days, Yellowstuff are the recommended compound. Fine on the road as well, I have used them myself.

The calipers aren't up to much either, I found when I used better pads the fluid boiled more regularly which meant bleeding the system ! If you keep an eye out a 4 pot set up can be had for reasonable money.

Oow nuts !

May be I'll change them when I wear my discs out - I have a horrible feeling this car is becoming a financial black hole - I must resist.

Resistance is futile.

If you are lucky 4 pots £200, Discs less than £100, Pads £30-£xxx, 4pot seal kit £17, hoses, fluid, your time and well worth it.

Just got Ferodo DS2500 in group buy.

Hope DOT 5.1 fluid will help with any boiling problems mentioned.

Will save money on 4 pots and get a newer car

Thanks for advice
