Question EBC Help urgently required

Hello,
My Renault 182 Clio mate has a major problem - he did a Trackday yesterday, and wore out a brand new set of Yellow stuff EBP front pads (purchased saturday) which resulted in a damaged set of discs (possible to rectify at work) and a missed last session on track. The AA were used to purchase a set of Halfords pads for the return journey home. Now as stated before, this guy is extremely quick - the only things he could not get past on this trackday were a Cateram supalight R ? and a Mini cooper S which was being run by a tuning co developing set ups for suspension and engine, and putting out approx 280 bhp. Scalps included Lotus elises and a mates Noble. These pads are supposed to withstand 900 deg c - they are completely gone - even the backs have distorted and the pads themselves have worn away to nothing. Obviously, he gave the car the caning of its life, but apart from the power steering fluid leaking from the top of the reservoir, everthing else was ok. Could these pads be incorrectly labelled, or has someone else experienced this sort of problem. They were bedded in during the weekend, and the drive up to the trackday, by the way, so should have been fine. The trackday was at Keevil by the way, and we are located on the South Coast near Bournemouth. Although a renault nut (also has a Turbo 2 now), he is most impressed with the Scoobynet BB, and has asked me to post on his behalve.
Any comments appreciated.
Mart.

Wink Update

Latest update - local tuning firm (supplier of pads) are interested in seeing pads. They have no history of this sort of thing, and have been most impressed with EBC in the past.
EBC have suggested that the rear brakes may have 'broken down', and that the front pads took all the grief - 150 miles on track and 100 odd miles to get up there is about right they reckon for really harsh use. They have suggested using yellow pads on rear also - currently Renault pads on vented discs, and have stated that during tests, the Renault cars have been recording temps in excess of 800 degrees whilst racing. As a sidenote, my mate who regularly gets to three figure speeds during normal driving, gets around 36 MPG - during yesterdays trackday, he averaged just 12 MPG. Front tyres are also scrubbed out on outside TYREWALL !
Mart.
