Subaru writing on caliper. What paint?
Hi. Just painting my calipers using hammerite and wondered what paint I should use to do the subaru writing? Would you use a white hammerite or something else?

i used hamerite smooth on the caliper body, but to be honest i just used humbrol model kit paint for the lettering..... holding up no problem at all,but i suspect the hamerite would be fine..... just more expensive

I got 1 of those pens for writing on tyres like 4x4 have for doing the lettering,They came out gr8 on the front but im stuck for the back 1s as its a flat surface as the back calipers arent the same as the front there smaller so i would have to paint them black first (or red/blue) then write over that.

They look brilliant Rigga. Hope mine look as good as that. How did you get them so neat. Just a steady hand I guess? Scooby24 try this link. I think this is the answer for your rear calipers.

When I had mine, I used Hammerite .... black smooth for the calipers and then silver smooth for the writing .... using an artists brush .... got to have patience to do it, but the results were great!! .... no problems with the thickness of the paint!

just take your time with a fine brush..... ive read where a small roller has been used to just skim over the letters as they are raised above the caliper body.... same result
