Default What size tyres?

If I get some replica PFF7's in 18" should I go 235-40-18 or 225-40-18?

Cheers

Telling us the type of car would maybe get a better response

I presume you have an STi type UK, so if its pre MY05 then 225, after would be 235.

Not really, would rub on the arches.

Best sticking with 225 IMHO...

235/40 is too big for a 7.5" wheel anyway, you'd need the genuine P-FF7 as it's an 8X18"

Are they really 8 inch Mike... never noticed on mine (i now have genuine items rather than copies i used to have ).

What tyres are Prodrive currently recommending for use with PFF7s (on a MY06 WRX patiently (ish) waiting for PPP with Prodrive springs already on ) . Neros or PS2s?

Cheers,

Tony.

Sorry to take the thread of track.

Tony

We still fit the 225 Nero. The improvement found with the PS2 in 235 doesn't seem to carry over with the 225 (92Y) version.

You'll enjoy the PPP, loads of torque.

Regards

Mike

Cheers Mike, i'll get some Nero's put on... have to make sure the wife parks it well away from curbs tho as i understand the rim protection is very limited with the Nero

The car's now had it's 1000 mile service so it's crying out for the PPP I hope to enjoy it soon.... any more details yet

Jacey, the wheels from Wheelbase on eB*y are their PFF7s replicas. Revolution do some similar. But get in touch with Revolution quickly as i think they can source some genuine items too

Hi Mike,
I'm interested in this comment as I'm thinking about what tyres to get when mine need replacing. I have an 03 WRX with PPP and P-FF7's (Genuine), apart from that it's standard.

Current Nero's are probably just over half worn, but I have no confidence in them when cornering hard (road use), it feels like the tyres have suddenly turned to jelly.

I had put it down to the Nero's and was considering trying the PS2, now I'm thinking it might be something else.

Cheers

If you don't like the Nero's then try the PS2's, they may suit you quite well. They'll certainly feel good straight away and in the wet they'll be better than 1/2 worn tyres.

06MY WRX PPP will give you a real big smile. Your dealer should get it next week

Brilliant news Mike . Any idea when the Subaru Uk website will have the usual pdf doc giving the details etc (no way i'm paying out money for something i've got no info on, even given Prodrive's reputation ).

I also notice on the website its £1700 (used to be £1600) and the STi version is also £1700 (used to be £2000). So de we now get the downpipe and fuel pump on the WRX or does the reduction in the STi kit price mean they don't get the downpipe etc?

Tony.
