Default Brembos are shocking when its raining!!!

Hi all, i've fitted new age Gold brembos to my type r, but have noticed that when its raining or has rained they are absolutely sh1te... is this because the discs aren't grooved/drilled and a thin layer of water is forming between the disc and pads????

After i've used them a bit it does go away, but it scared the hell out of me when i first found this out, was like i had no brakes at all not a nice feeling....

Has anyone else had this or know what it could be???

Cheers

Who bled the brakes afterwards?

What pads are you running?

Are the discs new.....did you degrease them?

So what have you changed, only the calipers? I cannot think of a way in which the performance of calipers would be affected depending on whether it's wet or dry. It's a closed system, the force which can be exerted by the brake pistons will be unaffected.

I think it's more likely related to your pads. Some pads need to be warmed up before they work well, the competition stuff. What have you got fitted?

BMW can, which is why the more top of the range cars have 'self drying brakes'. It applies the brakes lightly to get rid of the water when it's raining.

Also the exact reason when you wash the car and drive it off the drive way you have 'no brakes' at first.

Tony.

I've got the complete set up from blobeye scoob, so its all standard equipment, discs, pads and calipers!!

When its dry they are fine, its only when its raining, but as i said once i have used them a bit (obviously they will warm up!) they are fine, so this surely can't be a bleeding issue?

They have been on the car for a few months now, just haven't had the time to post. All should be bedded in by now surely.....
