Rims are 7.5 inch IIRC, so physically they will fit on the wheel fine.. dunno if they will clear your arches and struts though..

Would not suggest you use a lower load rating than what is recommended (whatever that is), have been a few threads on here about tyres bulging and spliting when wrong load rating has been fitted..

Getting a load rating of 87 or higher on 215/35 is quite hard.... one of the reasons i believe Prodrive Fitted 225/35 on the P1 (WR upgarde).

AFAIK there is no 215/35x18 tyre out there with a load rating higher than 84 .... ive looked for one .... BELIEVE ME!!

99% of people with 18's on a classic run 215's though (incl. myself)

Agree, shouldn't be a big problem but it you are thinking of doing track days, or sustained high speed then i wouldn't consider anything lower than 87. There are quite a few reports of a few tyres having the side walls cry enough.

If you are just using the car for 'fast road' driving then i personally wouldn't hunt out an extra load tyre (92Y). 87 will be fine...

The load index is the capacity of the tyre at maximum stress, ie when you are turning or braking sharp. You should always try to replace your tyres with at least the same load index as the manufacturers recommendations where possible.

If you need tyres you should check out www.top-tread-tyres.co.uk if they don't have the size/model you require just ask them, if it's available they'll find it for you - and they're loads cheaper than Kwik fit or Blackcircles!!
