The wheels fit over the brakes, as do all of our current 17 & 18" options, the only problem is that the offset of the wheels puts the tyre too close to the rear struts.
With a 235/40ZR18 Pirelli the tyre is about 3mm way from the strut but this tyre is quite narrow in the sidewall compared to most as well as being too small in diameter. Our recommended tyre is a 235/45ZR18 which are a little wider, in fact thay are as wide when fitted to a 7.5" wheel as the 235/40 is fitted to an 8" rim.
Current options we have available in 18" are 7.5 x 18" P-WRC1 ET46 (as 02-04 STi) in either crytal titanium or rally gold and our new lightweight forged GC-05F which is 8 x 18" ET46 in metallic silver (similar to WR1 colour) I'll probably be fitting these on my 06MY 2.5XT when it arrives.
Regards
Mike

Hi Mike - many thanks for the detailed response - much appreciated..
There seems to be a fair few Forester owners in the US that have these fitted so I'm assuming it must be very marginal..is it something that could be overcome with the use of spacers or is that not recommended ?
Many Thanks again..
ps very interested to hear about your new PPP for the 06 Forester can't wait to see what the 'suprises' might be.
Also definately want to see pics of your FXT when it arrives - which colour are you going for ?

It is possible with a small spacer but then you are using up available stud length. They will fit if you are careful with the tyre, better with a 225/45ZR18 than a 235 but 3mm of clearance to the tyre isn't enough to stop them rubbing.
We may get some done in ET48 the next time we have some made if demand is high enough.
I'm having Crystal Grey again. Wife thinks it's boring but would she be cleaning a black one every week......?

Many Thanks Mike - I'm going to try one on from my mates car tonight - it has a 225/40/18 pirelli on which according to the tyre calculator is 4.7% out.
Not ideal but I could probably live with it as long as it doesn't rub..
Must get some tips about how to get the wife to clean the car !
Thanks again..

Tried one on the car with a 225/40/18 tyre - fit was marginal but probably ok but tbh it looked pretty daft with the car at stock ride height.
Will look at other options and stick to 235/45/18 as you suggest..
Any chance of a decent set of a prodrive decent strut/springs upgrade for the Forester as there's a definate gap in the market there
Thks again

We are looking at various supension upgrades but most things are limited by the economics. As the car has self-levelling rear dampers in the UK we can't just change the springs unless we maintain the std ride-height. If you lower the car, it just jacks itself back up to the std height. This means that we'd have to change the dampers as well which starts to get expensive, particularly as the anticipated volumes would be relatively low and the development costs would be the same as doing an Impreza kit. Having said that, it is in my 06MY product plan and we did do something similar when the Forester was first launched in 1998 so it depends on how much time we've got with everything else we are working on.
I have been doing some work on bars with encouraging results on my 05MY car. This will continue on the 06MY car but we've still got to get someone to make us what we need at a reasonable price.

Hijack alert!
Mike, I wonder if you could answer a question for me?
Is there any way of getting the Prodrive GC-10 wheels over here in the UK?
The website says USA only.
Thanks in advance.
