Default Front brake spring clip????

I am missing the spring clip that sits between the 2 brake pad locator pins (not the little piece of wire, but the sprung steel that fits to the rear of the caliper assembley).

Will I die if this part is missing?????????

The main dealer in Beeston, Notts could'nt even find the right part number. They also thought that a single stereo blanking plate was a job for an auto electrician. Ill try Lucas at Mansfield i suppose?
