Better Handling Advice Please

Better Handling Advice Please
I have owned my first 2000 Turbo for a month now.
Its a totally standard 1997 model.
Wheels are 16 inch 205 Toyo Tires all with only 250 miles of wear.
I have noticed when pushing hard the car drifts round corners far more then I would like.
I dont have a big budget but want better road holding without sacrificing
Ride comfort.
What to do? Lower, Bigger Wheels, Etc...???
I find the power is good but the car is let down by the body roll and just lets go all to easally.
Any advice greatly appricated.

Not that much thanks!
Plus I would have to ship the car over to the mainland, that would be £200.00 at least. Take days off work etc...
So you are saying suspension is the way to go rather then wheels n tyres?
How about just lowering?

Noticed a few things here.
First- the conditions are horrid at the moment- don't expect too much, all the AWD and fancy diffs still are no match for greasy roads!
Second. What Toyos have you got, the R's or S's?
Third- They only have 250 miles on them so are probably not scrubbed in yet.
Fourth- Get your geometry checked, it might be out. You can have the Prodrive settings dialed in which will help front end grip, more extreme settings are possible at the expense of tyre wear.
Fith- Only then, start thinking about making bigger changes. On a budget, Eibachs and an uprated ARB for the rear (and possibly the front too) is about as far as you can economically go....it then gets a bit pricey. That set up would be more than adequate for most though.
All the best,

As NS04 say above.
Not sure if by "drift" you mean understeer ?? If so then a 22mm adj rear ARB with some solid droplinks will improve things there. Try the droplinks 1st - you may be suprised how much difference you notice from just them and its a cheap upgrade.

Thanks for all the advice guys.
I have learnt alot in the last 24 hours.
At the mo I am tempted to get the eibach springs and front and rear drop links.
What I dont want to do is end up in a possition where I have to add replace parts to compensate for other parts I have fitted if you get my point!
Drop links I can fit. Springs I will leave to a good mechanic.
Off topic but is it easy enough to fit a Down Pipe?
Looked at a good DIY site http://stefanostadal.homedns.org/car...suspension.htm
Good info on fitting a down pipe on there also.
Can/will I need to heat the nuts up at the Turbo with oxy acetylene first, like I had to when fitting a new exhaust to my old e30 325i Manifold?
This is my first Turbo and I dont want to mess things up!
Cheers

My car (MY99 Turbo) was transformed by the Powerstation treatment:-
Whiteline adjustable rear ARB
Whiteline rear droplinks
Eibachs
Geometry set up.
All can be had 2nd hand (except geometry before someone jumps in!!) and all are easily DIY installed, although springs can be a pig. Of course, geometry should be the last thing to be done once you've fitted the other bits.
You really will be able to feel the difference
Cheers
