Disc removal ?

Default Disc removal ?

About to remove original discs from a ' 94 Classic to fit larger discs and 4 pot calipers.Once i,ve removed caliper do i need next to remove centre hub nut to remove the disc ? Is that all that secures disc and any idea of size of centre nut ?

The disc should come off with just removal of the old caliper, no need for hub.

Lovely !! Gave 'em a whack with a soft hammer and they soon came off ! Thanks for that.

Another useful tip for you -- each disc has a couple of access holes drilled through the hub area. If you ever find the discs are 'welded' to the hubs, remove the spare wheel's securing bolt and screw it into the disc. Yes, it's the same diameter! This is normally enough effort to persuade the disc to free itself... if it's not then find a proper bolt of the same size and screw it in instead.

Good tip this because it uses force much better than a rubber mallet where the force of the impact gets absorbed too much IMO.
