Can anyone tell me what 17" Yokohama Parada tyres are like on a classic scooby....any good? Any brands you would advise to avoid?

Supposed to be superb, mate. Of course, this is SN so you'll only get people raving on about F1s. There were a couple of threads a few months back, one had details of a place in Worcester, I think, that was selling these at a ridiculously low price.
I'll prob go for these the next time I need rubber.

Thanks slowboy.
I'm having the geometry set up done on the car August 3rd at Roger Clark Motorsport so either have to get a new set of rubber on my 16's ( currently F1s ) or go for a set of new 17" rims. Looked at some Arospeed pulse 17" rims which i quite liked ( i quite like the multi spokes in titanium/black silver colours on mica red ) which came with Paradas and the sales assistent said they were very, very good tyres.

yep i've got a set on mine (see the other thread )
so far they have been pretty good, not blow your mind, out of this world great but a definate improvement over the Pirelli p-zero's i had previously. They seem sure footed in the wet and are very good in the dry. I did notice they tramlined on one stretch of road but it was only slightly worse than the pirellis and these are 215's as opposed to the 205's i had before.
going on a bit of a trackday with them in about a fortnights time, i went to the same place last year and the pirellis were hopeless, very little grip causing a fair bit of understeer and very unpredictable loss of traction, before you knew it you were facing the wrong way .
I'm hoping for much more of an improvement from the yoko's the only thing i'm worried about is how long they might last but at £75 per tyre fitted that i paid for them (£15 cheaper than a toyo proxes t1-r that i was quoted ) i'm not too worried at having to replace them a bit sooner
And they look pretty cool too, always important

yes....someone told me yesterday they are made from a very soft compound so they give outstanding grip but will wear out alot quicker then other brands.
Mind you F1's are a soft compound compared to many brands and i've still got mine after 20k miles.
Anyone know whether the Yoko Paradas come in 205/50/16 ?
thanks.

According to the wear rating on the side of the Parada spec2's, they wear slighly quicker than the T1-S did.
I don't care though as the dry-grip is phenomenal!, cannot get the car to lose grip in the dry. Stiffer sidewall helps as well!
No able to give an honest opinion of wet weather handling as I've not seen any yet but based on the dry-grip.THESE ARE MY SPRING TO AUTUMN TYRES!

I put a set on for Summer and love `em. Not used them in the wet though, not properly anyway and they seem to be wearing quite well.
A vast improvement over Pirellis so far.

Have had more very good opinions on the Paradas today.
Still can't find a set of 17" rims i really like or would suit my Mica red so might see if i can get Paradas to fit 16" rims and stick with them for the time being.
17" Kei pulse wheels are the wrong offset so will not be having them.
TSL are telling me good things about the A Tec Ultra light wheels.....might look quite nice....and there very light and strong.
