AP 6 Pots - who is the cheapest supplier?
As above (I have AP 4 pots)
Or would consider 2nd hand, maybe
Whats the going rate for 2nd hand AP 4 pots with nearly new discs and pads for sale on here?

Yes........seems sorted for now - £4k+ later. Lots of hassle though as Turbo was knackered - which I ended up sorting myself and after that went on the car it lasted 5 miles before the surclip detached itself? (Actuator Rod to Wastegate Rod connector) - it got caught I believe on the heat sheild bracket which I have subsequently angle grinded down
I took the car out yesterday - it needs tweaking by Bob - I wish I had some timing gear on it as it went like a rocket - but only up to 1.8 Bar.... My Brother in law asked what it would do if it had better fuel in it.......as it still wasnt fast enough for him (then again he does drive 200mph bikes!)
Godspeed - thanks I will look at this

am i right in saying that the kits Ian does do not include AP discs???
those prices don't seem right for a pukka AP complete kit???
just an observation.....................alyn

No I think on the thread is mentioned that those prices are using his own discs , and it's £100 or so more for AP discs , whatever discs he uses its his own bells and brackets in the kit ,
I would have though someone in your position would have realised that AP dont make a 325mm or 335mm disc

Ian Can supply you a kit with either his own discs or AP discs , but the prices are different , its cheaper with his own discs , and you get a track day guarantee , you dont with AP's

what i was getting at is that people will read what they wish and believe they are buying a 'pukka' AP kit that should be £1700-1800 and think Ian is discounting them to the prices in his buy!!
just simply thinking that Ian should make it clearer exactly what people are getting, not a dig or dumming down the work ian puts into his kits................

I would stick with AP curved vane discs. Do not use modified road discs with straight vanes if you want to go on track, and drive it like I know Steve drives his car.

If you've got AP 4-pots, why do you want 6-pots? They won't stop you any better, but mine do look nice
Discs are very important. Ian's discs are 32mm, I think, which makes them robust, but also heavier than AP's at 28mm, and you will never bu99er one of those.
If you want the best, it's AP Racing with 330x28mm 48-curved-vane grooved discs. That's what you get with an offical AP kit, which is not always the same as other (cheaper) kits using different AP components. Official kits come with DS2500 pads, I believe.
You won't get much discount off pukka AP gear, but try Mike at ScoobyMania.
Cheers,
Richard.

If I were to go for a set of AP 6 pots myself it would be with AP discs/bells. My reason being there are a number of suppliers for the AP kit and AP are a well known and respected company within the motorsport business so likely to be around for some time to come. Whereas with buying custom made discs/bells there is only one supplier so you are at their mercy.
All IMHO of course.
