I upgraded my old 2 pots to 4 pots with ebc red stuff and braided hoses. It wasnt worth the money...they made a bit of difference but not to the extent i thought they were going to. I quite unimpressed. if u want to do it, buy them 2nd hand from a breakers and find someone who'll fit them for about £150-200. other than that u could just buy some nice new pads. 2 pots arent great but it depends on wot sort of power ur running. my old 95 plate was running 280bhp on 2 pots and that was scary! upgraded to 4 pots and it was still pretty scary. I could only go for 290mm discs though cos i was running 16" wheels. (incidentally i have just swapped my prodrive front discs for some new ones! with mintex pads all round!--- oh my god it stops like a dream!)

I am running the 308mm discs and brembo 4 pots from godspeed under my 16" rims.
Upgrading the pads certainly helps, but if you go for a spirited drive on the twisties you might find brake fade appears after a few heavy braking sessions. Considering the impreza is probably the one of the fastest point to point cars available, getting an upgrade on the early 2 pot brake setup is a must.
