You know what I recon you cannot beat the Goodyear F1 GS D2
Firstly thanks to Tyres Northampton for doing the job quickly and well, not a mark on the alloys!
My Galant 24V went in for an oil change and once on the ramps it was apparent that i had a problem with the alignment, and four fecked tyres. They where pretty worn across but one was down to the cords on the inside edge!
Anyway i got 4 215 45 17 GS D2's for £ 86.00 each all in which seems a good price.
Also, i have been getting a lot of whining noise from the back end, i put this down to excessive tyre noise, the car had 4 matching ****ty unheard of brand tyres when i got it but, more recently i though it must be wheel bearings.
Horrah! - the new tyres cured it, i have some tyre noise but nothing like i was!
The car is now like new. steering more responsive and the turn in is pin sharp.
Down to the alignment and tyres i know but i have been exploring the grip of the F1's in the wet and it is astounding, the dry grip is brilliant as well.
I had the GS D2's on my scoob and our Puma, also tried Toyos T1S's and Pirelli 6000's which where good but mot in the same league.
I wil stick with these in future assuming i can still get them.
