Question Brake pads around town

Done search but cant make up my mind. Whats the best pad combined with standard discs for everyday driving in London - slowish pace frequent braking. Something that has little noise and work wells for short 5/10 min journeys but also suited for the ocassional late night more spirited driving, but no track days.

Thanks

You certainly cannot fault the guys ebay service in terms of the transaction.

Have you used any of the brake pads listed Dazza?

Buck,

I was considering redstuff, but got a feeling not suited to my needs. Is greenstuff more suited?

I would go for OE spec from motor factors personally.

Performance pads need a bit of temperature in them to work effectively and most are noisey.

Greenstuff are not recommended for scoobs and the recommended 'Redstuff Ceramics' wear out v rapidly.

Stick to OE or equivelent, at least you know what your getting.

I've had some nasty experiencess in the past with FR pad used round town - even when they said "safe for road use".....Apologies to the Audi owner who I ran into with useless cold brakes

Hi

The general technical recommendation, from EBC themselves, is Impreza Turbo's = Redstuff Ceramic. Greenstuff is not recommended.

However, we have had many customers insistent on us supplying them Greenstuff for Turbo's, despite being made aware of the recommendation. Not one of these customers has ever come back to us and stated that these pads are not performing.

Redstuff Ceramic cold bite is "OK to Good".

Greenstuff certainly have excellent bite from cold. (I use them on my car daily.) They can also take the occasional high speed / heavy car, full on stop, but will not stand up to this type of performance braking / heavy car, on a regular basis.

Hope this helps.

Buck
